Budgeting for a wedding can be the scariest part of the wedding planning process.
Determining your overall wedding budget will be determined by the number of guests you invite.
You can expect that 20% of the invited guests will not be able to attend the wedding.
The average cost per guest varies based on the location of the wedding and wants/needs of the bride; but a rough estimate for the Southern Pennsylvania / Maryland area is $150-$200 per guest. For larger city areas such as, New York City or DC, the cost per guest could be as high as $300.
Let’s Do Some Math: If you invited 150 guests, roughly 120 guests will RSVP yes (150 * 0.8). For Southern Pennsylvania / Maryland area, your wedding budget could be between $18,000 – $24,000.
